The following privacy policy is intended to inform you in particular about the type, scope, purpose, duration, and legal basis for the processing of personal information in the app Kfz-Scanner ("KSC").

1. What data is collected and how is it used?

The KSC respects your privacy. It is the goal to keep the personal information used in the KSC to a minimum. Personal information is only processed in the KSC if you really wish to do so.

The personal information that may be collected by the KSC and may be considered personal information under applicable data protection laws falls into the following two categories:

1.1 Information collected automatically

The KSC only collects automatically the language setting of your device to show you the right privacy policy.

With this app you can take pictures of vehicles. After taking a picture, the KSC processes the picture automatically. It detects the number plate and estimates the distance of the vehicle. The processing is only done by your device and not in the cloud.

The location of your device and the heading of the camera is only collected automatically if you accept (opt-in). It is used to obtain the position of your vehicle. You can use this information later to find your vehicle again after a day trip.

The recording of the taken pictures (including date, location, number plate, etc.) is optional.

1.2 Information provided by me voluntarily

The KSC can be personalized easily. You can enter additional information (e.g. parking time, street signs, inspection date, car owner, etc.) and save it with the photo. For instance, this data can be used to remind you of parking meter.

2. Who receives my personal information?

2.1 Data communication

The collected data will not be given to other 3rd parties. Only if you give permission to locate your device, Apple's map services are used to show you satellite images of your car's location or to calculate the shortest route to your car.

2.2 Customer Service

You can contact the developer of the KSC via email to give your feedback. For instance, you could send support requests, report tactical errors, etc. The provided information, the name, and the email address will be stored. The information (dealt cards of the last game, build number of KSC, etc.) will be used exclusively to improve the KSC. Neither your email nor your contact information will be given to other third parties.

3. How long is my personal information stored?

Your personal information will be stored in the KSC as long as you do not delete it as described in section 6.

Your emails that you have sent to the developer of the KSC are stored as long as they are needed to improve the KSC.

4. Legal basis for processing my personal information

Personal information is collected in accordance with European Union data protection law (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation [GDPR]) from you only

(I) where you have given your consent to do so, or

(II) where your personal information is needed to perform a contract with you or the processing is in the KSC developer's legitimate interest and not superseded by your rights (e.g. to provide customer service via email).

5. What rights do I have?

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following data protection rights:

(I) to access [cf. also article 15 GDPR], correct or update [cf. also article 16 GDPR] as well as request deletion of your personal information [cf. also article 17 GDPR]. You may do so by contacting the developer of the KSC using the information provide in the "Contact" section below.

(II) If your personal information is processed with your consent, you can withdraw your consent anytime [cf. also article 21 GDPR]. You may do so by contacting the developer of the KSC using the information provide in the "Contact" section below. Please note that withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing that was conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted pursuant to lawful processing grounds other than consent.

(III) You have the right to file complaints with the supervisory authority if you believe that the personal information concerning you is being processed by the data controller in breach of data protection provisions [cf. also article 77 GDPR]. Please note that you can also exercise your right to delete your personal information directly in the KSC. To do so, set all ticks on the page "personal data" (⌘) in game settings (⚙). After closing game settings, all your stored personal information will be deleted. In addition you can stop the processing of personal information of other players nearby by deactivating the multi-player mode.
